Company Information
Universal Cement Corporation was established in September, 1959 by the joint effort of Mr. S.L Wu and Mr. Y.L Hou and entrusted Mr. T.S Wu as the President of the company. Since its founding, the corporation has adhered to three basic principles of prudence, honesty and moderation. Through 50 years of diligent and punctilious management, the corporation enjoys being one of the most recognizable brands in Cement and Building Materials industry in Taiwan.
Under the new leadership of Mr. B.Y Hou, the company seeks to become the leading building materials solution provider in Taiwan. While adhering to the founding principles, the company also seeks to manufacture innovative products that are both eco-friendly and also contribute to the sustainable development of our environment.

Cement Division

The first cement production line of Universal Cement Corporation was built in Da-Hu, Kaoshiung in 1950, using the quarries from the hills of Da Gang Shan. A second production line was built in 1973 at nearby Ah-Lian township to fulfill the increase in cement consumption due to the rapid development taking place Southern Taiwan. Today, with the Ah-Lian plant still in operation, we continue to serve the Southern Taiwan community, producing 800,000 tons of ISO 9001 certified cement annually.

Ready Mix Concrete

Universal Cement Corporation currently operates six RMC batch plants and two reinvestment batch plants in Central and Southern Taiwan. From Taichung to Chiayi, Tainan, Kaoshiung and Pingtung, the corporation has been a popular choice for construction contractors, hailed for its quality control and excellent services.
 

Building Materials Division

Since 1991, the Universal Cement Corporation has been the leading brand in the drywall industry, providing consumers with fire-proof gypsum board panels. The corporation currently operates the sole gypsum board production line in Taiwan and has attained numerous certificates of quality including the Taiwan’s CNS, United States’ ASTM and UL and Great Britain’s BS certificates. Furthermore, our gypsum board panel is also a government certified green building material. The corporation continues to dedicate itself in the research and development front and has improved the wall panel’s quality with the introduction of waterproof panels catering to the island’s humid weather. In an effort to correspond to the increasing awareness in global warming, the corporation will continue to develop more green building materials to contribute to the construction of more eco-friendly buildings.
 

Microelectronics Division

In 2010, 50 years since the founding of Universal Cement Corporation introduced the Micro-Deformable Piezoresistive Sensor Technology named “Uneo^TM”, marking a watershed in the history of the company and the commencement of a new start. Uneo^TM is a technology developed for force sensing applications requiring a slim and light for factor. Incorporating various patented microstructure and surface engineering innovations, the device is capable of achieving unprecedented versatility and reliability to reach optimal performance.
